A: Contact lenses are ideal for athletes. In fact, they could give you an edge. They offer a more natural vision correction and increase peripheral vision. And you can quit worrying about broken frames or lenses. Plus, contact lenses don't fog up, slide down, or fall off. Some sports may still require protective eye gear for safety. Ask your eye care professional if you have any questions.
A: Unless your eye care professional says it's OK, you should always take out your contact lenses before you go to sleep. If, however, you do fall asleep with them on your eyes, remove your contact lenses as soon as you get up, and follow the recommended lens cleaning and disinfecting instructions. It may be helpful to put rewetting drops in your eyes before removing your lenses to moisturize them. If the lens is stuck, not moving, and you are unable to remove it easily, see your patient information booklet for how to care for a sticking (not moving) lens, or contact your eye care professional.
A: If you tear a contact lens, simply throw it away and replace it with a new one. Never put a torn contact lens on your eye. Particularly with one-day or two-week replacement lenses, they're not as costly to replace as contact lenses used to be.

A: Your prescription contains lens-specific information that must be given to us in order to supply you with the correct lenses. The information is as follows (sample information):

Your Rights:
New Federal legislation went into effect February 4, 2004 requiring that your eye care practitioner release a copy of your contact lens prescription to you after you have been fitted for contact lenses upon your request. The law falls under the "Fairness to Contact Lens Consumers Act" (FCLCA) and not all eye care practitioners are up-to-date with what the law says and requires of them. This prescription is valid for at least 1 year from the release date (the date your eye care practitioner releases the prescription to you).
Make sure that when you get fitted for contact lenses, you obtain a copy of your prescription. Be cautious of signing any waivers or paying any release fees, as these practices are expressly forbidden by the FCLCA.
Verifying Your Prescription:
The FCLCA also specifies that third party resellers must verify the prescription with the prescribing authority. The fastest way for this to occur is for you to fax us a copy of the original prescription at (201).339.0122. If we have a copy of your prescription on file, and it is not expired, we can keep it on file and do not need to contact your eye care provider for verification. If you do not have the physical prescription, or do not have access to a fax, you can still enter the prescription information in the required fields along with your eye care provider's information and we will contact them to verify your prescription. Please note that verification in this way can take up to eight business hours, so if you order late one day, your order may not be shipped out until the next day, provided the lenses you ordered are in stock.
